🏆 The State of the Race

As of right now, 211 racers have officially completed this year's Oscars Death Race, according to deathracetracking.com. That number is an incredible testament to this community's dedication — and I can't wait to see how many more of you cross the finish line before the ceremony begins. You've got this! 🍿

🗳️ VOTE IN THE AoDR DEATHIES — 48 HOURS LEFT!

This is your final reminder: you have just 48 hours to cast your ballot in the AoDR Deathies!

The Deathies are our community's own awards — covering all the Oscar categories plus some special ones of our own. It's your chance to have your say!

The ballot closes at 3pm GMT. Not sure what time that is for you? Check your local time at aodr.net/deathies/2026.

The results will be revealed live at the Deathies Ceremony, broadcast on YouTube on Saturday 14th March. Keep an eye on Reddit and Discord for the confirmed broadcast time and link — you won't want to miss it!

🎨 THE ANIMATION SHOWCASE — IMPORTANT UPDATE

A note for everyone regarding The Animation Showcase access via deathracetracking.com:

Due to the close of the Oscars voting period, we are no longer able to accept new sign-ups to The Animation Showcase through our site.

If you have already signed up: Don't worry — you will retain full access to the library right through to the date of the Oscars ceremony. Enjoy it!

I want to take a moment to express my sincere and heartfelt gratitude to The Animation Showcase. They have taken a significant financial hit to give our community access to their world-class library this year, and that generosity is truly extraordinary. Thank you so much. 🙏

A serious note: Please ensure you are complying with their Terms of Service. Do not share access or misuse the platform. They monitor usage closely, and we want to remain in their good graces!

NEW FEATURE: PICKS

We've got a shiny new feature to share! You can now set your Picks for each race — selecting your top 4 films in each race category and your favourite for each category.

Here's what's great about it:

  • If you make your Picks public, they'll be displayed on the public and friend leaderboards for everyone to see.

  • You can also share your Picks directly with others using a generated link.

I'm genuinely curious to see how racers use this — it feels like a great way to spark conversation and debate about picks and preferences. Head over to deathracetracking.com to try it out!

📣 FEEDBACK & SUGGESTIONS

I owe you all an apology — I made a mess of the newsletter last week! Sorry about that. 😬

On the bright side, we now have a brand new way to submit feedback and suggestions:

Please drop in your ideas, and upvote suggestions from fellow community members that you'd love to see happen. Your feedback genuinely shapes where this project goes next — so don't hold back!

☕ Support

I genuinely really appreciate (and need!!!) the support of subscribers and donors to the site. If you enjoy the tools and want to support the site, there are two ways to help:

  1. Subscribe or Donate: For just £12 a year, you can go ad-free, get a custom avatar on the leaderboards, and unlock other subscriber-only tools. Subscribe here.

  2. Free Support: If you can’t support financially, you can still help by disabling ad-blockers on the site and following/liking my lists on Letterboxd. Every bit of engagement helps the site grow.

That’s it for issue #005.

Happy tracking!
