The wait is over. The 98th Academy Award Nominations have officially landed, and the board is set with 50 films making the cut. Whether you’re a completionist or a category specialist, the real "Oscars Death Race" starts right now.

🇬🇧 Next Stop: The BAFTAs & Mega Death Race
The awards train doesn't stop! Choo choo! The BAFTA nominations are arriving this Tuesday. As soon as they are announced, I will be working to finalise the 2026 Mega Death Race (the race combining the nominations for the Oscars, BAFTAs, and Spirit Awards).
Just like with the Oscar nominations, I’ll be updating the data as quickly as my "day job" allows. Thank you for your patience as I get the new races up and running - I’ll be at the keyboard the second I’m able!
📽️ A Reminder: The Animation Showcase
We are incredibly lucky to have access to The Animation Showcase streaming platform. A huge thank you again to Benoit and Hugo for making this possible for our community.

🛠️ New Features: Friends and Crunching the Numbers
As well as some bug fixes, this week I’ve added some new features:
Race Stats: On the race pages, you can now see a range of stats, including exactly how many films you need to watch per day on average to finish the race before the ceremony.
Friends List (BETA): You can now create a custom friends list to generate a smaller, more personal leaderboard. This is currently in beta while we iron out the kinks, so give it a spin and let me know what you think (via Discord please)

The /r/OscarsDeathRace subreddit has regular updates on regional availability of films, as well as other news. We’ll be launching this year’s 38 days of film soon!
